Because I feel bad for Sheelan and Kia that no one else is standing up for them. I've given a mental scolding to Tahlir for being too unobtrusive.

Good, I'm glad. Cos when Sir Locrio and Lutien kill Sheelan and Kia, it'll be far too late to stand up to them.

Now that was a very good mental picture. I've been trying to read this for several days now and every time I open it I'm called away. (I read slow and in depth)

At the moment, it looks like that's exactly what they are going to do. The party is in a city at the moment, so as soon as she is able, Kia will go to a lawyer and draft a document saying that should she be killed or become catatonic in strange circumstances, the party is to blame and should be tried for her and Sheelan's murders. It does not look pretty. And given that no bonds of friendship bind them together, the others have no qualms about ignoring what Kia might actually *want*, and just do what they think is the best. Best for whom, though, I wonder...

I guess she could, but she doesn't really have anywhere to go. And Kia isn't really a brave person. (Plus it would suck in terms of roleplaying... ^_^)

I feel the need to point out that out of all of them Tahlir has always considered Kia a friend. He would never let her be killed if he could help it. He is slightly afraid of Sheelan, but as far as he's gathered she's afraid as well. Lutian and Locrio believe what they believe so much that they won't be swayed by words. Tahlir knows that and is trying to find some way that he can convince them though he fears that it will come to he and Sheelan/Kia fighting against those two while the others don't know what to do.

I'm interested to see how Tink reacts to the whole thing.

I know this, but Kia/Sheelan doesn't. To them, it seems like both Tahlir and Thorkin are just watching the conflict from the side lines, uncaring and unwilling to get involved. Of all the people in the party, Kia likes Tahlir best, but her feelings are beginning to falter now.

Tink will just think it's all really cool, and probably insist on telling the story at the market place, or something...

Now that's true schizophrenia. Great piece, very interesting, although it's short it adds a lot to the personality of Kia/Sheelan. I laughed a couple of times, blame my black sense of humor, and the ending line is just so good. "Let them come!" Quite badass. Great little piece, I enjoyed reading this.

Thanks! It has a lot more aggression than most of my work, then again the topic kinda justifies that. We had a few awkward moments during that session when the others were openly contemplating murdering my character, which I wasn't all that pleased about. As I mentioned in a comment to an earlier prompt, these issues still haven't been resolved as we haven't had a chance to play that campaign for a while. I'm looking forward to it, though, it's great fun playing a mental telepath/weretiger! ^_^

Ah, the whole RP scene adds so much flavor into this.

"Hey guys, let's just waste her!"
"Was that out or in character now!?"
"Um... in. But your character can't hear it, she's too far. Now, can we get to it?"
"Yeah, let's kill her!"
"Hey!"
"Sorry hun, your character just has become useless to the team."
"Well thank you guys! Thanks a lot!" *goes to the corner to pout*

Could be interesting to do a story about roleplayers and not about characters sometimes.

Täytyy sanoa, että monet novellieni hahmot ovat saaneet piirteitä omasta persoonastani. Eihän sitä muuten pystyisi kirjoittamaan, jos ei millään tavalla pystyisi samaistumaan omiin hahmoihinsa.

Sometimes we take notes on our sessions, as we aren't able to play that often and it's helpful way of reminding ourselves about what has happened so far, and occasionally random comments creep in. Once my American friend, sphinxeye in fact, wrote: "The crazy British people are singing the Wombles song. I'm freaked out." etc. Hilarious stuff.

Hmm, perhaps I ought to write a story about furries roleplaying human characters.... Or perhaps you should do it? ^_^
