I put my mohawk up for the first time, it was interesting. We tried it in a fan but didn't know what we were doing so that sort of failed, and we went to spikes. I used Knox Unflavored Gelatin and a fuck ton of Big Sexy Hair hairspray, and it was damn near bullet proof. The tips hurt to touch. I barely fit in my big ass f150 though, that was an annoying ride.

When glasshouse had a hawk, I would have him bend over and I would spray a shit load of Rave in it and blow dry it. It worked really well and we did that so he wouldn't have to worry about it ripping out.
If you use a straightener upside down, that works really well for a fan.
But anyway, the hawk is AWESOME.
