For a little while I've had it in my mind that I should come up with a design for a more delicate scale necklace than what I've had previously. And then the person who caught my 20k kiriban over on DA asked for a necklace, which gave me an incentive to actually do it.
The 3 scales in the center are actually more important than I'd thought they might be--their weight helps keep the scales next to them lying nice and flat. In a funny way, the geometry of that area also makes it not hang super great when it's longer, so this design will be worn at a fairly short choker-length. I may also end up experimenting with slightly different ways of doing a focal point at some point. But I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. In a bit I will probably make a couple more and put them up for sale on Etsy.
Black and purple anodized aluminum scales, linked together with stainless steel rings.
