Actually, you can get Articuno in X and Y, if you choose Chespin as your starter. You can get Zapdos if you pick Fennekin, and Moltres if you get Froakie. They will be roaming Kalos after you become the Champion, but getting them is tricky. They will flee right away, so you have to track them. Well, you can track them, in the Pokédex. After they flee twelve times, they will go to the Sea Spirit's Den, where you can battle and catch them.

Rather interesting concept for these, though.

i know how this works lols but thank you. i just cant get one to catch myself without gts since i chose froakie as my starter. all the articunos on gts want thigns that i dont even have/dont want to give up
