Lady Butternut is a natural born warrior, she is constantly working to protect her kind from Harpies and other foes that dare challenge her.
Peach has always wanted to join her force but unfortunately is a bit of a bumbling, clumsy creature. She has the fire in her heart but she lacks the ferocity and strength to fight alongside her kind.
Butternut and Peach both just wish to protect one another but their mutual desires tend to clash since Butternut wants to keep Peach out of harms way, and Peach wants to fight alongside Butternut so she can protect her.

Well, now that I know the history behind them, it's actually kind of sad. :/ I get where both of them are coming from, and it's obvious that Butternut has both the skills and the physique to get out there and keep watch, but I very much relate to wanting to help, and having the right mindset but just not being able to contribute. I imagine they'll keep on keeping on, though - I can tell they have a very good relationship, even with the occasional moment of clashingly similar ideals.
