I love music much myself, and I tend to take a liking to things that are based off music from older times, or even the older music itself.
But at the same time, whenever I hear someone at my school say that '2009 was a long time ago' and other words of the sort, I simply smile a bit and go back to what I was listening; a rather non-verbal retort.
I enjoy what I listen to, even if it tends to be rather 'old'.
Time, to me, only makes me feel obliged to go back into the history that was to discover things that were once there... changing types of music being among those things.
This makes me feel, if not, rather confused whenever the dissonance between the tunes of these days, and the ones of years past play at the same time in my head; it results in an amusing contrast, now that I think about it.
Regardless, I'm still thankful for what I've heard and what I listen to. The world of music tends to be unlike any other, and I feel this poem shows that very well.
As always, great job Zidders. :D

I wanted to get to this reply when I was a bit more away. First, thank you-again-for the lovely comment. It means a lot. Second, music means a LOT to me. It's not only helped save my life, it's something I love creating. I'm not as musical as I could be, sure but it still brings my life a lot of joy and meaning, so I'm really glad this sort of thing resonates with others, as well. It's lovely to think that I'm helping spread some of that joy around.
I listen to everything. I grew up raised by folks who had grown up in the 30's and 40's, so I was exposed to a lot of the kinds of things they loved when they were younger. It's why I listen to everything, no matter what genre or kind of music it is, from tribal all the way to EDM and everywhere in between. I'm a sonic adventurer. I'm glad you enjoy some of the loot I've found along the way.

Music is something that I like listening to, though I really need to go deeper, so to say. I have artists that I love listening to, but I want to listen to more, listen to people I've never heard of, genres I'm not familiar with, new sounds I'm not accustomed to. I need to find more out there but when I find something there's always more to listen to. Thank you for sharing this piece.
The third stanza reminded me of Noise Marines. Not what you were looking for, but the image it conjured still gave me a chuckle.
