This is something I've been working on the past few months off and on. Really, its a bit of music I've put together, inspired by the anthropomorphic RPG game Shard that I've been a play tester for. www.shardrpg.com
I was trying to create a little audio journey that would work well as background music while actually playing this pen, dice and paper type RPG. I wanted something that fit the world as I perceived it.
And here it is...still not quite done. I'm it'll mutate a bunch before I'm done.
I wish I were a musician.

*checks out the site* this looks like a pretty neat world. ...i wish it was a pc game instead of a paper-based rpg. Not that there's anything wrong with the latter, i just don't have any friends around to play games with :-/
The music is good, quite good in fact. ...what did you use to put it together? is it mostly assembled samples?

Its composed of 90 samples that I've raped pretty hard. *Grins* Its all samples. Some are simple thinks like a single hit on a tympany drum. Another might be a few notes of a flute... Anyway 90 different samples that I cut into pieces, loop, pitch shift, pan, process and lay out as a few hundred events on a timeline. I composed it using Sony's Acid. (heh heh...I made it on Acid!) The various samples are all bought and paid for so rights on all of them are clear for me to use in a professional work. If only I were a professional at this.
You are a musician. Just as you are an artists. There's a book in my drawing class that has a wonderful quote that I absolutely love:
"This book is about making art. Ordinary art. Ordinary art means something like: all art not made by Mozart. After all, art is rarely made by Mozart-like people - essentially (statistically speaking) there aren't any people like that. But while geniuses may get made once-a-century or so, good art gets made all the time. Making art is a common and intimately human activity, filled with all the perils (and rewards) that accompany any worthwhile effort."
These songs, by god, are music if I've ever heard music, and by reasonable induction, you are one who creates music, aka. a musician.
I absolutely love your songs, insistently demand more and want badly to use one with my art.

XD As they say...Art is whatever you can get away with. And hotdamn, you not only got away with it, but carried me away with it! @.@ I can so feel every part of this, from asian Indian to the ancient wardrums...I can't seem to get it out of my head. Instant fav, and another on my repeat list! <3
