for thows how did not know I got my self a wacom cintiq companion, its to make thing go a lil faster for me, meaning im not just stuck drawing at a desk and have to stop once I leave, this is a a full WIN-8 Wacom tablet so I can take it on the go and work to. thow work goes much faster with a key board with it there is not much express keys do do all my short cuts. so for me I use to do my nice art work, with out it I can do a good sketch and ink.
if you like to see me draw on it here is a link to it>>>

waaah~... apart from the obvious advantage of being able to draw on the go what other significant advantages can you see? Hmm... i've been thinking a lot on goods and bads of other tables... i bought the cheapest wacom tablet and (for me it was around what $85 max?) and it works really freaking fine... so.. i want to really know f there's any other significant differences ;u;
I was curious about these... on other tablets is seems like the accuracy gets bad (the spot you touch with the pen is slightly offset from the spot that is actually clicked on the screen) near the edge of the screen, which is annoying when you're trying to click on menus. Does this tablet made by Wacom itself have the same problem?
Oh man I've been want in one so bad! I'm jealous =) I want to sell my cintiq 21ux and get the companion (I can't afford to have both) but I was afraid that if I do that, I won't like the companion and would basically have to do a tango of selling ux to buy companion to sell companion and buying ux again lol
I see that there is pro work being done on the companion...do you feel like it's something that's easily done? Or just for sketching?

When it proliferates, people will probably try putting windows 7 on it, but it's possible that some of the tablet drivers will be specific to win 8.
The Cintiq Companion Hybrid is an alternative model, which does use Android (and is considerably less expensive), but you'll be out of luck in getting Sai or Photoshop proper running on such a device natively.

Windows 7 has great compatibility, so it probably wouldn't be an issue. The problem with Win8 is that it's really, really stupid about drivers. Windows 7 could take pretty much anything and work with it, which is why it's a much, much better and much more powerful OS than Win8 despite being several years older.
Android still has some powerful drawing tools, though, like AutoDesk Sketchbook Pro. I bet it's cheaper because Android's free.

As do I. I'm a gamer, so I'm probably always gonna be stuck on desktop, lol. I use my Nexus 7 for reading, emulation of stuff like NDS, GBA, N64, PS, and NES, listening to music, and a bit of mobile gaming. But most of my RP and other computer-related activities are done on a desktop.
Oh nice! Cool to see that you have one as well. I get the regular Cintiq 13HD in the mail on Monday, I don't go far away from my computer to often so there's no need for the companion aspect for me lol
It really seems that more and more people are getting these! Can't wait to try out this fantastic tablet for myself~

Its a PC tablet with windows, so you can essentially install art programs on it such as SAI, Photoshop etc. This is the upside of it, where as if you got the Cintiq Companion Hybrid, its an android tablet as well as a Cintiq, so you can plug it into your computer and use it the same as you would a Cintiq 13HD, but the downside is you cannot run SAI or Photoshop. You'd have to get art-based apps that run on Android.
I have this same exact tablet. It was given to me as a graduation gift because I was getting into computer art at the time. I haven't been using it because well.... I have no idea how. I was also given the really advanced paint system that is recommended and its workings are so much different in comparison to any other art program I've used. I've made it a goal to learn how to use it this summer.... but it's so overwhelming.
