For awhile ive spouted about my minatures and i thought now ill show em'.
My army tries to combine alot of fantasy with their guns. Its why i picked Chaos. (that because the emperor is a bitch) Ive put old chaos shields and swords in their hands to make them look like lost warriors of another time. I plan to combine all kinds of medevil death on yer asses.
Question to my fellow WARGEEKS. How often do you watch a movie and they have some SciFi army and you think to yourself "Fuck what a bunch of pussys"...?
Is not warhammer 40k the nastiest universe ever created?(except for Dark Eldar you guys were born retarded) Are not all armies within the hardest of soldiers?

Those Chaos guys mean some serious business. Especially the Berserker with the Ork Bonik arm bit, looks totally kick-ass!
*laughs* I've watched Sci-fi movies and thought "Those totally could be guardsmen with this equipment and this...." n.n
And I was inclinded to agree until I played Warmachine/Hordes. Some of their guys are seriously hardcore. Examples!
These guys erupt out of the corpses of your own soldiers to keep on killing, even dragging the tattered remains of the original host with them!

And to quote this particular monstrosity: "Each agonizer embodies pain and manifests its misery as an aura afflicting those around it. This horribly abused infant titan radiates its suffering with such force that it can suck the vitality and strength from attacking warbeasts and cripple an enemy's assault before any blows are struck. Death comes as sweet relief after the continual torment these creatures endure."

Yeah, the game itself isn't nearly as customizable as Warhammer, you don't even get to customize your heros, using premade heroes instead.
though conversely, the game is MUCH cheaper than Warhammer. For the price of one eldar WarWalker, I bought the rulebook and the starters set which got me tourney ready. ;)
Plus, all the figures are metal and not crappy plastic. :P
Still, I miss having my own hero....

Holy hot shit of the emperor! Those are some awesome models :3
*pouts* I play Dark Eldar, you're just jealous cause they have the biggest freak in the galaxy to get on :P
I've had the crossover debate and conversation many times, the 40k universe wins hands down because it is entirely geared towards war, it is the sole purpose of the civilisations existence. Things like Andromeda have star destorying bombs, fine but what's the point in doing that since it means you can't colonise the planets? It's like blowing up a planet just so no one else can have it (which the Imperium do on a regular basis since they will plan to recolonise in two thousand years time). It also spans the longest time as far as I know, the star wars Empire took less than one life time to be established, star trek took at best two centuries, ten thousand years is a mind boggling time without the 30mthousand years of development before then

I'm not fond of the Dark Eldar warrior models myself, the whole range is in dire need of a remodel, the warriors are spindly and snap cause they get stuck into the carrying foam, the Talos' arms are so bloody thin they snap and can't be pinned or fixed. The grotesques look shite, the only well built things are the bikes and scourges.
I made some great conversions for warp beasts though, demon unicorns of death!

Well,
foxmaster5 is making me an Orpheus miniature XP and the explanation is only four words: "The Tau accept all." XP

Love the game and actually worked for the company for a while as a painting-monkey.
ANYWHO! Yes, the 40k universe is dark and spooky, I like it for that reason...it doesn't try to make ANYTHING happy or positive. "We're actually saving you by giving you a lobotomy, trust me."

i agree that 40k is the best out there. and if you read alot of the fluff and backstory, you can understand just how dark it is and why.
i personally love the tyranids, got an army brewing... gonna buy the endless swarm next... 60 gaunts and 60 hormagaunts!
and i already have a hive tyrant, 2 guards, 6 warriors, a zoanthrope, a lictor, 3 raveners, 2 carnifexes, 12 genestealers and a broodlord.
gotta love having a well paying job and no other addictions

Gotta say that Warhammer40K is by far the most brutal and savage of them all, the most unforgiving and the most epic.
All of the armies are the example of the most extremes you can reach. The Armies of man are the most abused and cornered, the Space marines the most fanatic and loyal, the forces of chaos the most insane and hateful, the hoard of orks the most simple and brutal, the eldar the most ancient and hopeless, the dark eldar the most cruel and merciless, the necrons the most cold and deadly, the tau the most hopeful and noble, and the Tyranids the most relentless and alien.
I cannot think of any universe that is anything like that of 40k, I mean the scope of the conflicts alone are enough to boggle the mind. All of the armies involved have something that would make them endearing to anyone, the only question is which one you relate to the best.

Chaos will consume your soul. It has mine.. I went Marine for a while. Sold one marine army (Blood Ravens from DOW) told actually GW employee oversees at a GW bit bizzare. About to sale my dark angels. Must add more followers to the dark god. I play chaos for three main reasons.
1. Tired of good guys vs good guy fights..
2. Well I used to play Iron warriors and took break for while, then went marine and although did not mind painting them. I really missed playing chaos.
3. The coversion possiablties are endless. You know you are good when the GW manager wants you over when district managers or other visitors from GW company comes in and brags about your stuff. He dubbed me and another friend insane...
I got to say whats your problem with the Dark Eldar. I happen to like them too. I still got a small force... You really want to scare your opponents, run Chaos and Dark Eldar together in apocaplyse = few shall survive. It really fun to watch your opponent sweat when he gulps and asks the obvious is that dark eldar and chaos you playing there.
Well I really must get to showing my work here. After all with the access I have to forge world (aka make you cream your pants but broke stuff. ) I really got something to show.

If you love that tank you should see the others. At the bit bizarre I bought a hell hound tank that needed some serouis love and remodeling for 5.00. Took look at the turrent and decided to try another experiment. After rebuilding the shell got together with fellow chaos friend in mine. (To help with the plastic card parts), dug into my bit box and left over defiler parts and built a chaos traitor guard hydra. Turned out great.
Lovely force, though I have to say my Battle Brothers and I are disheartened at your weak spirit. Your souls will be given over to the Emperor after you've spent sufficient time with our Chapter's Interrogator Chaplin repenting for your 10,000 year old sins.
It's true I've yet to come across any Sci-fi which can even come close to matching the Bad A**ery of the Warhammer Universe without being so over the top it becomes downright silly. I don't know how they managed to make Warhammer not seem silly for that matter, but the right combination of humor and awesomeness in all the background fluff has kept it deep, dark, and intriguing for all these years.

I absolutely agree. I've often wished that they would make a series of live-action movies to cover the entire Horus Heresy (once the book series is complete, of course), to show from beginning to end how the entire WH40K world got set up.
I've long wanted to see a picture of the pre-heresy Horus Lupercal. You know... the charismatic, handsome Primarch of the Luna Wolves. I've seen too much of his Chaos-twisted, black armoured form. I want to see what he looked like before that, before he was twisted. When he still somewhat resembled his brothers.
Personally, I'm stuck between my fondness for the Grey Knights, and my growing respect (ironically) for the Alpha Legion (hehe.. the ninja of the Astartes. xD) Sadly, my figure collection is limited to two standard Grey Knight Battlebrothers.

We... are... Legion!
I, myself, was ultimately struck love bound with the Daemonhunters. The bane of Chaos's existence. Their entire mindset is just so damned enviable! And they're beyond loyalty to the point where if one even suspects an Imperial Guardsman of heretical thoughts... BAM... Bolter in the brain, and succequent genocide of the entire unit. Just for safety's sake. XD
They're the ultimate in good guys. Not to mention if would make me piss myself if I were Chaos and saw a platoon of Gray Knights charging over the hill, glowing with the Emperor's Blessings, firing Storm Bolter rounds into everything around me, only to have one kick it into high gear and impale me on his halberd. They're JUST brutal. :3

In the dark future, there is only war. The religious belief of mankind in Warhammer. I love the entire universe. You. Me. Need to chat about this loveliness sometime mate. Do you have an AIM or a YIM or a g-mail? Something that can relay responses faster than FA? :3
THIS IS THE JUDGMENT OF THE RIGHTEOUS!! SCUM!!
THIS IS THE JUDGMENT OF THE RIGHTEOUS!! SCUM!!
*horselaughs at the original question* Heck, I've laughed at too many of the sci-fi armies on film and some on anime. The questions I ask myself are in this order "Could 40K marines kick their butts embarrasingly? Could Colonial USMC from ALIENS kick their butts embarrasingly? (The deck was intentionally stacked against them in the movie, according to the sourcebook) Could current era USMC kick their butts embarrasingly?" The answer too many times has been 'all of the above', especially "Starship Troopers" ;=) A 40K fight versus Star Trek would be a giggle fest.

Unless someone uses forgeworld pieces, there is nothing that can beat my Mecha Tau army. >=3 i use fast attack, no static and all long range with pinning. ^_^ firewarriors in Devil fish's useing the Devil Fish's as a shield while my firewarriors fire under them before the devil fish are forced to land. =3 Stealthsuits with marklights for my Skyray missleboats, 1 railhead (72'), 13 crisis suits, each team designed to take out all comers in close and long range WITH the ability of takeing out tanks, infantry or heavy infantry. I can detect 'infiltration' right off the bat and any units with jump packs or teleporting wont even stand a chance. I know Tau suck rotten monkeh nuts at hand to hand but it has never come to that.
The only thing i ever have to worry about is out-maneuvering and the only race in Warhammer i have a hardtime with is Dark Eldar. Those guys were designed to move fast and hit hard from the get-go. Tau can give any race a run for its moneh and i think thats why almost everyone hates Tau.
I will admit that the chaos just has a nice mixing melting pot of different figureines...and the defilers are so bad ass looking. o.O but a defiler cant stand up to an ork Killer Kan XD.
>=3 one well aimed (rolled) shot at range and my railhead can put a dent in all advanceing armor. Firewarriors will rain down 12' plasma death on anything that gets within strikeing distance, 6' pinning carbines will stop the assault in its tracks while my skyrays open up a salvo from hell. ^_^ oh yeah, and i dissagree with giveing my 'Hovers' burst cannons. All my 'Hovers' (Devilfish, Skyray, Railhead etc.) are fitted with twinlinked missle batteries where ever possible...o.O i think only my Devilfish have burst cannons.

Yes, people in foreing countries cant have these games... the only thing i got is the series of dawn of war, the computer game, and im a GM for the Iron Kingdoms setting... but still i would love painting those little things and having a board strategy game... to give you a ample scenario of my dilemma, the only thing that reached the far parts of the world where i live were the D&D miniatures and heroclix... nothing more...
Like a good commander, you created a strategy based on experience. ^_^ Shows you have military promise to learn from a mistake and adapt.
Sometimes strategy and useing the terrain doesnt matter.
Can i just say what my greatest fear is? Me? Shas'O Dal'yth Foxeh? ^_^ its not a Necron phalanx of Monuments (two monuments rideing side by side), its not seeing a Squigoth, Twin Baneblades, Whirlwinds or any might any race can muster- its seeing 'Air Support', Titans, Elysian Drop troops, Stormblades, Eldar Revenants and (only once) i saw a Hierophant. Wanna talk about needing a strategy? X3

The Imperial Guard shall put an end to your evil doings blasphemer!!
PS. Maybe the Emperor is a bitch, but he is MY bitch!!
heretic filth!
:D
oh and seriously, I love 40k but the most beautiful miniatures come from Rackham for the Confrontation game... (the Wolfen and well, almost every other race) well the game itself sucks ass (it's made by the French, what did you expect?), but the miniatures are totally ftw. Even GW stole some ideas from them (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see their elves and the WFB new elves;)

I don't call my infantry units Guardsmen any more... I just use the term: meatshield:D I mean, that lascannon battery is much more important for me than a bunch of poor suckers with flashlights.... on the other hand those guys managed to kill several space marines, chaplain and a couple of other unlikely targets with their flashguns, amazing isn't it?
Oh, and watch out for grenade launchers, there's nothing like the sight of your friend's face when his dreadnought is getting blown to bits by single shot from it:D
As for dark eldar... just equip flamers and watch them burn. Tested in practice;P

Yeah it is:) Plus they've got some famous people to do the voice acting sucha as Terrance Stamp, John Hurt and Sean Pertwee. I'd post a link but I don't know how but I can give you directions. It's pretty simple really just go to google type in Ultramarines movie, click on the first (well it's usually the first)link and bob's yor uncle. I recomend watching the trailer.
Ultramarines are the most common kind of marine. They don't have alot of the darker points like the Space Wolves or Dark Angels. They were no doubt picked because of their umm....more reasonable attitudes.
Most likely the first antagonist foe won't be Chaos or Tyranids they will probably be Orcs. Which is cool by me since Orcs are always fun.
