Da na na na na na na na da na na na na na na na PIG-DEER! PIG-DEER!

Ok. For some reason last night, I dreamed of sort of wild swine-like character, like a javelina or a warthog. I think pigs & co. are quite awesome and I barely ever see 'em, which makes me sad. I've got a female pig character, Vera, who's going to have a side arc in the Castor & Pollux comics, but I've also been wanting to have a male piggietype ever since working on the character design for Angel, Arty's sweet little boar-demon ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/804179/ )

My first instinct was to go with a javalina, but then I remembered babirusas, aka pig-deer, which I also love to pieces. I don't think I've ever seen a babirusa character (if you've got one, show me! Please! I love 'em!) Real babirusas are, let's face it, REALLY FREAKIN' UGLY. I took this as a challenge, and well, here is my attempt at a cute babirusa.

His name is Periwinkle, because that's the more common name for the vinca flower, and well, Vinca is one of my nicknames. :) I'm working on his color scheme right now but I'm pretty sure a nice pale blue is gonna be worked in there somewhere. :) His top tusks have been filed down a bit here, but I figure if he were to grow them out, they will curl around rather tightly, so I'm gonna try another shot of him with the toptusks grown out more.

Peri is a northern California native who moved to Ballpointe, PA. He is a naturalist, a lover of hiking and lives an active, healthy lifestyle. He probably is one of Graham's gym buddies :) He's also shy and unaware of the fact that he's got the potential to turn heads. And like Vinci, he absolutely hates the snow and misses the warmer climate that he grew up in.
