Thanks, the sad thing is that this was a quickly done piece. I wish I took more time to draw the planet surface below. It looks awful.

nah its got good detail to it, better than my sketches anyway, im trying my best and they still turn out flat

I use different degrees of lead hardness and a blending/smudging stick to get this kind of gradient and smoothness. But yeah shading can be a real pain sometimes.
