He left the messenger where he stood, and strode silently to the balcony.
There the troubled king surveyed his kingdom from that height, and his expression hardened. From the ground, to the sky, beyond the mountains where his rivals stood against him. He raised his sword and swore.
'I gave you your peaceful lives, and you took my daughter's. For the wrongs committed against me, and my house, I will burn the life out of this wretched world. Prepare yourselves for the end.' Most of his victims never heard his declaration, but soon they would all come to know it."
