So I'm realizing this is probably the biggest cocktease right now, but I just finished this up and I'm not actually taking commissions for these JUST YET but maybe possibly? Prices for these as a VERY GENERAL BASE PRICE will run between $25 and $35 starting prices and go up with page count, materials, and book size. BASIC sizes will start at about 1/3 your basic sheet of paper, but with creative binding, can be made as full sized sketchbooks(roughly, sans like, a half inch for the actual binding of pages into the book cover and stuff.)
Right now, I've got one person that I've already discussed doing one of these for, but I may be convinced to do another one or two as december orders. NOTE I have no idea how fast I can get in soft bound cover materials (leather/rabbit pelts that are the right colors you'd want) so it would be VERY UNWISE to bank on this as an on time xmas present, but I might be able to pull it off. I have no idea.
Stuff on binding:
Hard bound covers use a thin-thick cardboard inner structure covered with scrapbooking paper and/or material, depending on stuff. Material/fabric would be the more expensive choice of the two in this case and can bump price up $5 plus depending on material.
Soft bound books use (mostly) real leather and pelts. Finding nice faux leather that would work as a nice cover has been really hard, since most is for upholstery and has this weird fluffy backing, and is really super thin. It's more like a leather style vinyl. If anyone knows where to find nice faux leather, please let me know (or other good places to order real leather, pelts etc). Right now, the main kind of pelt cover I'll be using will be rabbit, as I know somewhere to get nice simple rabbit pelts for about $15 a pelt (and I can make 2 smaller sketchbooks out of one pelt). 90% of the time they're solid grey/brown or white in coloration, but occasionally they get some pretty marbled or tan ones in.
Charms will be based on a general idea, since it's hard to let people see everything that's available. It's better to give me a general theme for charms, and I can pick out a few different ones to send your way to pick from, or just let me pick something as close as I can. (example: a key. There were probably a dozen different style keys, or smaller sets of keys that could be made into a little charmset for the soft bound ones.)
