I... have a fear of dark water. It sounds stupid, I know... but if there's a patch of dark water where I cannot see the bottom, I will NOT go near it.
I know it's irrational, because it doesn't matter if it's the beach or a swimming pool. I know there's nothing in there, but if I see dark water, my mind goes into a panic and starts throwing out visuals of what COULD be there.
And who better to show my insanity than the Deep One itself, Cthulhu! :P

I´m a bit afraid of fishes touching me, or crayfishes...
In my childhood i was every weekend on a lake in Belgium, camping, swimming and stuff, and one Time, i was looking with a friend of mine for live clams, just as a play... and i dived to the ground (water was not deep) got a Hand full of them, carried them to the surface, looked at them where between one or two shells a crayfish, i got the fucking shock of my live, trow it back, and run on the land. since than i go only swimming when i see the ground xD
(Just a little explain, i live in germany, there could n´t be something scary in the water, even the Sea is harmless xD

I think the worst scare I've had like that was that one time while on holiday in the Cayman Islands, we were going out to one of these Meet A Dolphin things. On the way, the tour stopped at a place called Stingray City, a reef filled with rays. Now, we were told they were most friendly, but NOT to touch their tails due to the barb on it.
Everyone was out having fun... but what happens the moment I get into the water? End up stepping on a ray ~_~
Thinking I might have upset or angered it, I panicked and shot out of the water back onto the boat.
The tour guide found it funny, then decided to make my fear worse by pointing out to an area further out to sea and saying "Hey look... A tiger shark"...
Everyone was out having fun... but what happens the moment I get into the water? End up stepping on a ray ~_~
