BIG ANNOUNCEMENT PEOPLE
This picture is the first of my Advent commission serie.
Indeed, everyday until christmas I will post a picture <3 So much art by shali :p
The first one is of course Shalinka as you can see, and commissionned... BY ME as a example.

I could see you easily charging 20-30 dollars for something of this magnitude!
But lately I've been seeing that sketches like this have been ranging in the 10-20 scale.
You could always time yourself and charge at the hourly rate in your state?

I was just wondering how much people estimated it. On fact I already have a price range per hour. Was just curious. I'm in fact a bit disappointed that people thinks its sketch. It's a full colored and render commission. Tooks me something like 6 hours. But people not seems to be interested to pay more than 45 for that. So not sure of what I m gonna do..
Anyone who calls this a sletch is either colorblind or just went full-retard.
I understand both sides. It's not fair if an artist gets less than the minimum wage for the hours they spent on producing the art. On the other hand paying 45$ for a single character painting is more than many can afford. The average income of US furs seems to be quite low..
In general you can say that quality/time = money
You could either try to improve the quality, while using the same time, to justify a higher value, which is quite unrealistic, since your level of quality is already very high,
or you could try to produce the same quality in less time, which again seems to be hard to do since an output of one painting per day can be considered high.
So the conclusion is following: Your price is fair. Some people may complain about it, but there is no justification for that.

Oh man, this is an incredibly sexy picture! I love it! The advent commission thing sounds like a lot of fun. So to answer your question about price: I'd see something like this going for 50-60, and that's lowballing it. That said, some folks are likely feeling the holiday pinch so I imagine you're going to see a lot of disagreement with my estimate. I'd base it on how much work you have to put into these pictures and then use that to determine how much per hour you'd like to make on them. So assuming about $15/hr I'd figure no more than 4 hours of work should be spent. Again, I'm lowballing all of my estimates because i don't want folks to crucify me.
extrremely cute wish i could afford a commish but ive got 7 whole dollars to my name and i still havent done anything christmas for anybody in my family (honestly i dunno what to get them. plus i spent aall of my free spending money on a playstation 2 game a whole 8 bucs.)lets put it this way if i had the money i would commish either you or jailbird for 1.(i dont get much money from s.s.i. and most of that goes to household,bills and food.
