This is Icarus, my newest rescue.
We drove a 120 mile round trip to pick him up today. He had been thrown out of a top floor window, in his cage, by his previous owner. The cage was dented, and the guy who rescued him had to beat it back into shape to be able to use it. It was a tiny cage, no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper, and was where he'd lived his whole life.
He is a wonderful rat, so affectionate and desperate for any contact and attention he can get. He's about 10 months old.

He's now happily settled with a group of 3 other boys, and is a changed rat. It took some work getting him in with others as he was so socially stunted and just couldn't communicate, but we got there eventually. He's actually quite a pushy, strong willed little rat now!
