Man, this turned out so amazingly.
Also, maybe it's just me, but whenever I see this, I see the character Rock from Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis before I see Protoman. http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4616.....0&pid=15.1 That's him, there. To me, the two characters are oddly similar!
Seriously though, I really love how this looks. It just has a great attitude about it.
