Oh man ^__^ What an awesome, fun looking lion! Great work sweety! I think it's obvious everyone's gonna comment on that cute little lip! *Giggles* I think I remember seeing a lion on a documentary manage to pull up both sides of his maw by laying on his front paws. Looked real goofy!!
*Giggles* Awesome stuff here, babe! I love how you draw those pawpads, and those dreamy eyes ^__^ And his mane just looks so scruffable! Lions are such lazy butts :3 I knew you would sneak in a little buttshot too ;)
Wonderful drawing, babe! Bright, playful and really nicely textured! It looks good enough to fu.... Ruffle! >:D

What I find most amazing is that you "have this idea in your mind" and then a short time later it appears on the page, and with such detail. I love the little pink bits at the inside of his eyes, the little bit of moisture on his lips, the detail on the grasses... and of course the raised tail, beckoning. He's absolutely beautiful, and another amazing piece of work.
Oh my god, its bigger than my screen! (Yes, i saw his dick lol) No! i meant the pic.
Great one Zen, Sir!
I really love how his muzzle lies on his hand and let us see some teeth, that looks so realistic.
They eyes are beautiful and the whole expression is so inviting, tail straigt up, i guess he is happy =)
Really like the Design of him, you need to give him a Name!

Btw: U should do some Tigers ;p

Very very nice. I'm faving this for the technical detail of it. Not to mention I really do love what little details you put in, such as the little bit of the lip pushed up and the tuft of fur at the cheek, and the moisture on his bottom lip.
You know what you should draw, though? A malamute. ;) Big, fluffy, curly tail! ;D

I really love your art and you're great and all but... I have to say you seem like you could use a little more creativity. It seems like all of your art is of the character posing for a camera and a large amount of those are lions. Thats not to say that the pictures are bad in any way they're amazing. I just wish you would do some different POVs and situations.
Well thats kind of what I'm saying. Drawing him with his face on his arm might be difficult and new but its not really that different. I don't mean to come off like I don't like it I'm just trying to be constructive.
Its not so much the details that are the same more as the overall scenario seems to all be similar. Obviously no matter what you do people will still love it simply because of how well you draw. I just think you could try some more unusual things. More outside the box kind of things.
For instance you could draw something more dynamic. Its just a suggestion.

I donno, but to me this really seems like a benchmark in your artistic life. There's a lot of things that you've done...little things...that make up for a very great pic. One could look at this and go, "Oh wow! Zen! Lion! Zen lion! HAWT!", and really, what's wrong with that? But this honestly feels mature-er...I donno how to put it. I'm having trouble with this. It's just the look in the eyes, the way his hair looks, the way the lip catches on his arm, the shape of his teeth, even the way you drew the grass this time....it just feels like you've gone up another notch. You've always done really well with eye candy and theme and poses and especially perspective, and I hope this does not come across as "ooh, Grrr's such an art critique! Fancy!"....it's just that it feels that this lovely, masculine piece of eye-candy has some protein, some real substance to it as well. Yeah, I know...protein...cum....meat...metaphors....this just has balance to it. Not that your work is unbalanced. Gah, I could work myself around in circles....just know that this looks really damn nice and tangible....you've leveled up as an artist...again.
Be well.
Be well.
aww thank you. coming from you does mean a lot to hear. I did get a different feel when drawing this. my goal is always to make each character feel real and believable. it can be hard to convey the emotion in just one pic. I can only hope that i can continue to try improve on my self. it can also be tough cause all i want to do is have fun when i draw but cause i try do better, it leaves many with high expectations of me. Thank you again Grrrwolf :)
Oh my, thank you, too, Zen! It honestly means a lot to have your reply as well.
I think that there is a lot of pressure and expectations on you, which nobody asks for. It still shocks me when I hear replies that express their feelings that you're drawing too much of this or that. It's just absurd and ridiculous, and to me we're very lucky to have you share your art with us. Unfortunately art can be a double-edged sword all too often. You're giving a bit of yourself up to thousands, and while so many sing their praises to you, there's always that one that says something a little too unkind.
I'll be honest in saying that your work is amazing. I try to deconstruct it, try to figure out what you did and how you did it. You have a lot of technique and skill, and you're really masterful with what you work with. Sometimes I feel that what I would have to say would only be a drop in the bucket of replies you get, and it's well deserved, but I try to be a little more thoughtful versus the "OMG COCK!" response...not there there's anything wrong with that. I'm grateful you're still a good, genuine guy beneath all of this.
May you keep finding inspiration and you stay well-rested. And as I've said before, I wish you and Icelyon nothing but the best. I think the support you both have for one another is not only endearing, but sets a positive example for other couples out there.
Grrr

Ahhh another piece of eye-yummy to look at and behold. Hehe, again you did a great job on this one Zen, but it looks different in a way. As if you've taken reality, painted over it, and produced it on paper, something very little artists can manage to do, in my opinion. It's like watching Animal Planet and going, "Hey look, a lion that is sexy AND realistic!! ". I mean, this pic just wants me to reach out at that fella and touch his fur, just to bring me back to realization that it is a picture, and not a block of real life.
Anatomy, perspective, lighting, depth...even physics built up to make this not just a piece of amazing art, but a step closer to making ones imagination perceive that the character within the pic is actually real, sprawling in the mild sun and the gentle breeze. There is so much to say about this pic, but so little words that exist to express ones true feelings towards it.
Anyway, with all boringness aside, great pic Zen, this one is really unique in a indescribable way. Keep it up and hope to see more soon ^^
