Metaknight is gonna join Kirby OMFG *spasm*. Always loved Kirby in SSB and SSBM and now I get to see what his counterpart can do :P
Oh... I forgot the comment :P I am sure Sonic is MUCH better than Mario. Imagine what it'll be like if both switched powers (AKA Mario has Sonic's Speed and Sonic has Mario's jump and ability to become Fire Sonic, Tanooki Sonic, Frog Sonic er.... scrap the last one). Bowser will be sawed in half, Eggman will be stomped with Sonic's almighty boots of justice. Um.... I think we see too many Sonic Vs Mario Fights. Why not get them co-operating? ^-^;;;

I've played both SSB Melee and Sonic Battle, and I can say that Mario's punch combos are way faster than Sonic's. This means that Sonic loses both in attack speed and strenght.
Errm... yeah. That's what I'd say if it wasn't completely ridiculous to compare Mario and Sonic. =P

Mario can jump over anything Soic throws at him, all sonic can do is run into stuff. Mario has the advantage of ranged attacks (Like the fireball, and hammershell suit) sonic can go super sonic waaaay too late in the game.
Ergo Mario ftw. Plus Mario has better games, like Super Strikers, Party 1-7, Power Tennis, and NSMB

AL-LA-BASTER PLEASE!!! I'm sick of people saying that only thing that Sonic can do is run. If you ever play any of Sonic games, then you know that Sonic has more moves the Mario does. Let see Sonic's moves.
Sonic got:
Spin Dash
Homing Attack
Roll Out (That's when Sonic runs and you press down to make him roll instead of running. What do you think Pokemon got that from?)
Light Speed Dash
Blue Tornado
Flying Kick (from Sonic Rush)
Blue Meteor Blast (also from Sonic Rush, when you have to fight Sonic, he will do this, plus the Blue Tornado)
Flamming Summersault Kick (from Sonic Adventure 2)
Sonic Flare (from Sonic Battle)
Sonic Wave (from Sonic Battle)
And there's even more moves I can name, but I'm too tired to name them all. And remember, Mario shouldn't even have that Fireball move, he need a flower to do that. All of Sonic's moves are all him.

Honestly, I think that Mario and Sonic should have their OWN fighting game. Just the two and no one else.
Just hear me out.
With just these two character you can include all the moves and variated battle fields based off all their games. Throw in all their powerups, abilities, movement and keep the focus on the gameplay. It will prove who is the best by focusing on just Mario and Sonic.
That woud be a kick ass video game in my opinion.
