In his early years, after ''recruiting'' his family to his cause, Kalen decided to o out into the world in a manner that wouldn't draw a terrible amount of attention. So, he decided to do it in the flashiest manner possible that nobody would take seriously - as a supervillain with a domino mask on.
Scarily enough, this plan actually worked. Police rarely took him as anything but a manchild or simple crazy, and actual heroes didn't have the proper defences against his mind-magics and pheromones. Those who did notice were almost always too late, and even when they weren't Kalen merely sent his already entranced forces out. After a while, though, Kalen gained access to a most useful and peculiar bit of spacial-engineering-magic, a door that appears in the darkness. Suffice to say, Kalen doesn't let it stay dark for long, and neither did he keep wearing the silly disguise...
...now if only Alek would loosen his hold and let him use a new door.
