So I saw this kind of thing everywhere on my dashboard, and I bumped into this one the other day (I mean the base, Rarity,Dash, Pinkie).
I'm not sure I get the point of the pony thing because it's supposed to mash up things that are similar no? Or it doesn't matter? Anyhow I had too many points to go for.
1: mash up and make the best out of it, so everybody can tell who were the 2 (or 3) ponies I mixed together
2: color balance, there's none, I tried to help on the colors, but at the end even if they looked fine you couldn't really tell what I was aiming for. Like when I went for the color between pink and light blue to get Rarity. It looked nicer and seemed more legit, but took the mixed feeling away.
3: stay canon. I didn't want to make 2 of them alicorns, but I was thinking 'what would a guy who doesn't know the show do with this'. well, probably mixing the two. bam. alicorn.
4: cutie marks - I don't think they turned out that good, but they kinda tell what's up in my opinion
5: hairstyles - I think this was the hardest part, just look at them, none of them has even SIMILAR mane styles.
6: personality - again, an outsider might not know this, but I tried to give back an expression for all of them, mixing the 2 character's attributes together and this is what I came up with.
these are the things I wanted to stick with while mixing them together:
Rarity's horn (again, making them alicorn, but that's what an outsider would do). Rarity's able to cast spells, use magic is not her strongest attribute, so I thought just making the mixes pegasi, except the pinkie/rarity one. And of course her swirly mane.
Dash's mane color, obviously her biggest giveaway, that's the character's strong point, design-wise, without colors she could be many of the background ponies.
Pinkie's puffy mane. again, I think that's what gives her away, mixing the manes was really fun.
I played with the siluettes, and it was amazing, you can tell who the mixes were. I spend hours with these, I made more than 20 designs for it, many color changes and mane styles, expressions etc.
Might do the other 3 later, maybe princesses who know?this is really fun.
Rarpie Dash is original character donut steel (not)

this reminds me of the Mixi Max Mechanic from Inazuma Eleven Go 2 Chrono Stone.

hmmmm... well here's my opinions:
1.) The emotions are very well done, aside from the bottom one i could easily see what you were going for, my only question is... what is the bottom ones expression? it kinda looks like a mix between embarrassed and laughing, kinda like her rarity side hates having messy hair but her pinkie side is finding it funny.
2.) the art style is as usual, amazing, the only thing i noticed that was out of place was the middle ponies hair, the mix of all three fusion ponies... the hair looks solid to me, no matter which angle i look at it, it seems to be made of rubber or plastic. perhaps this is because having messy/curly hair styled in such a manor seems unusual or maybe it's just because of the way it's been drawn, i'm not sure yet.
3.) i do agree with the fact that people who haven't watched the show would assume that a Unicorn mixed with a Pegasi would make it an Alicorn so i think that was a good move.
overall i like what you have done here!
