Yes, we tested everything out on a development version of the website to make sure everything was working...but then forgot one thing when we converted it over to the live catalog. Sorry about that! Fortunately, it seems only 7 people were charged for the no-shipping option before we got that fixed, and all will be fully refunded.
Thanks. I didn't want to wait until it was fixed. I would have brought a print-out of the order saying I paid an extra $5. Hope it didn't slow the server that much, as I did see it slow just a tad at 6pm my time. (My order still shows the $5 charge. Will it be adjusted on the site?)
I'm not sure if we can actually go back and change the shipping charge entry in our system's records, but we will contact each individual who was improperly charged and confirm that a refund is in order. If you paid by credit card, we have to wait for the charge to be processed before we can put in for the refund -- so mostly likely the $5 will be refunded to the card tomorrow. For check/money order, we'll just confirm with the purchaser what the proper total is.
The server slowed a little bit, but fortunately we don't seem to have brought it to its knees...or maxed out or bandwidth.

Hehehe! I've got my shirt ordered!
Sofawolf did a weird thing during my payment, though. When I first went to pay, it said that they didn't have any stock of the shirt size I was ordering, but when I went back and started my order over again, it said that they did. It was very odd. Ah, well. My payment/order went through, so I reckon I'm "in the clear." *grins*
In any case, I love the designs on the shirt. They're well done and insanely adorable. I can't wait to see this thing in person! *wiggles*

We (Sofawolf) put only a portion of the initial production run up for pre-orders to make sure that we had a decent number available to sell at Anthrocon. The pre-orders allow people who won't be going to AC to have a shot at getting a shirt, and they also bring in some money to help pay for the up-front costs of producing the shirts. On top of that, our pre-orders will give us an idea of the size distribution of Dog's Days fans, which will help us decide how many of each size of shirt to get!
Getting shirts made is a lot more expensive per item than printing books, so we were a bit conservative with this first production run. If sales go well, we'll do another run, but those wouldn't be available until fall because of the production lag. Still, would be ready in time for your Holiday shopping!

There was no limit on the number of shirts per size category -- only the total number of shirts available. We have placed an order for a specific number of shirts with the manufacturer, but we don't have to give them a size distribution until the fabric is printed and they're ready to start assembling the shirts.
So the time to sell-out of the stuff we put up for pre-orders was about an hour and twenty minutes. From the size distribution of these orders we'll extrapolate out to the entire order so that we have a reasonable number of each size to sell at Anthrocon (and after, if we don't sell out at AC).
