My fursona, a cybernetic Mewtwo who was once a human test subject transformed into what he is now. His gear is what protects his unstable DNA from turning him into a puddle of goo, as well as other useful functions, such as breathing underwater.

Always nice to see another Mewtwo here. *Faves* I can see why he would need the gear. If he was a test subject, his DNA would be unstable from testing. If he ever wanted to get rid of the gear, though I don't think he would want to get rid of it, I could help, by stabilizing his DNA. (I had mine stabilized by a friend who said I was close to having my gender changed to genderless. Luckily my unborn babies weren't harmed.) I like the style of his gear. Looks really nice on him, and the chest plate also looks good.
Heh, I was transformed in a similar manner, only not in every aspect simply because bone is so much harder to reshape (i have plantigrade legs. Deal with it =P).
I happened to have been assisted by nanomachines in my transformation(now inoperative, they're slowly being excreted via waste products). They kept my body stable during the whole TF, but simply weren't designed well enough to withstand/work through or around a conscious mind (hence, I was sedated during the whole time).
I'll explain later if I can get enough people to want me to put in a Story on how it works. (Like, 4 or more)
