I actually remembered something similar to that quote.
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both.
And be one traveler long I stood;
And looked down one as far as I could;
To where it bent in the undergrowth"

"Then took the other, as just as fair;
And having prohaps the better claim;
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
As for that, the passing there, had worn them really about the same."

.................. Dang I dont remember the rest....I know I missed some parts....Basically Robert Frost had the same idea...great poem really.

its stuck indelibly in my memory

Same here...but that one is gone from my memory...I had to memorize 'A Psalm of Life'...I have a copy of it in my gallery
