It was about time I drew Amai with Akuma, because it's always so much fun to do so. However, all images featuring Amai with any of my characters are non-canon to my story, as she doesn't even exist in my story world.

I know this comment is coming in pretty late, but I'm catching up! Seeing as both of these characters were redesigned relatively recently, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone (a rather unnerving phrase haha) and comment here to cover both C:
On Amai, I have to say that this design here most definitely has to be my favorite design of her yet! All of the colors and patterns on her new design compliment each other quite nicely. Simply put, they provide a really nice contrast while matching quite nicely C:
On Akuma, I'm still very fascinated by him as always. It's neat to see Akuma's size put into perspective, as I'm always partial to bigger characters! That is assuming that Amai shares the same height as an average person, haha. Also, the new orange color looks very neat on him, but I am actually very curious about the eyes!
I remember in his redesign pic, you mentioned that you've removed two of the eyes on his head, and that two of the eyes on his tails are now obscured but are still there. You also mentioned in the description though that Akuma still has nine eyes! I feel like such a nerd for asking about this, but I can't help but wonder, where did the other two eyes go!? I'm actually genuinely curious because part of me wants to come up with humorous ideas on where he would hide a pair of eyes skjldfhsldkjf
Anyway, always happy to see your art, despite how long it takes me to comment on it :D

Thank you for commenting! As you know, I always enjoy reading your comments so much.
Amai is probably around average height, yes. So, Akuma is pretty big, because here, he is actually walking on all fours, so he will be towering over quite a bit if he stands up.
About Akuma's eyes. It has always been like this for me, that Akuma had/has nine eyes, but the eyes on his face were never actually part of the nine eyes. The nine eyes I mean, are his power source, like a power level I guess, and only the eyes on his tail count for that.
3 eyes (one on each tail) are his normal power level. When he needs more power, he grows another tail with an eye, this can be a maximum of 9. The lowest he can go is 1 tail with 1 eye, any lower than that and he loses his demon powers completely, because that is the power source for every demon.
All demons have at least 1 eye as a power source, but depending on the demon, they are displayed on different body parts, like hands or wings for example.
I hope I wasn't too confusing with my explanation and if you want to know something else, just let me know!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooh oops LOL
ALL THIS TIME, I had thought that when he gained an additional tail, thus gaining an additional eye, he would LOSE an eye from his forehead, as if it would just sink into his skull. I imagined that his head had configurations for any amount of eyes for the amount of tails he had at the time. So with that said, I always imagined that if he, for some reason, decided to go down to one tail, he'd have to try and squeeze eight eyes onto his forehead, and whenever he decided to go full power, his face, save for his mouth and nose, would be completely bare! In all truth, I always found that concept extremely terrifying because, in my head, I imagined that he would be reaching a point where he theoretically didn't need eyes to see anymore and that at that point, he would have something that's better than seeing or something along those lines.
If you ask me, I'd have to say I actually like your concept better because A) It's less complicated and arbitrary and B) it makes him more personable, which I realize sounds REALLY strange when referring to someone like Akuma, but I feel something like that's important when he is such a vital character to your story and canon!
p.s. jesus he's on all fours!? God damn, he's even bigger than I thought and that's unusual when I tend to overshoot everything in terms in size! I blame my affinity for big characters, but regardless, I'm most certainly not complaining. I think it's perfectly appropriate for him :D

That was actually my first idea when I started the eye's idea.
It was a fun idea to play with, especially with uneven eye numbers like 3, 5 or 7.
But after a while, I didn't like the thought of Akuma losing all of his eyes on his head when he has 9 tails. Because I really want him to keep his expression with his eyes. Especially when he gets angry his eyes would be very important for showing his anger even more. So, I started to develop the other idea.
