Okay, so here ya go, my little workspace and YAY!! My new Cintiq 12WX showed up and is very nifty. You can see Blueberry hanging out on it looking very pleased with herself for once instead of all frowny. (She prefers to stay clothed when she can manage it. < X D )
So yeah, this is why I refuse to concentrate on the bad, new tech has me all giddy. < X D I feel like a total dork being that excited about the damn thing.
Also, for those that may be considering buying a Cintiq, before you do, make sure you have a good area to set it up in. You really need a place where you can comfortably work on it. Otherwise you'll be hurting fast. Also, if you intend to do the dual monitor setup like what is shown in this pic, you'll need a computer with dual video output or well, two vid cards as the Cintiq needs both a video in and a free USB port to operate. My computer has a DVI-I output (which is great for the Cintiq, its whats best for it according to the manual) and it has a VGA output for my bigger monitor. I actually kinda had forgotten to research that before I ordered the tablet. < X D So mostly I was lucky my comp could handle both monitors.
Anywho, now I go tech geek all over the place and play with my new toy. Will post the Blueberry pic when its finished. ^_^ thanks all!

D: I really. Really. Really wish I had that kind of tablet. ;_; I'm a total arrtard when it comes to tablets. x3 I can't work without seeing where I'm aiming as I move from line to line. Only seeing the brush move when I come really close, combined with not drawing where I'm looking, turns my skill crank firmly back to "noob" :(
The one Miu has is $999.
The top-of-the-line 21-inch model is $2400, and is the present standard for most animation companies, game creators, graphic design firms, and other art-based businesses.

I have an tablet PC (Asus R1F), which is pretty much the same thing and I loves it!
I'm trying to convince my studio to get some of the Cintiq 12WX's for some of the artists (like me ^_^) so I don't have to use my TPC any more at work. It makes painting so much more fun. I use to for all my sketches now. I rarely draw on paper too since I found some great pencil brushes for PhotoShop.
Have fun with your new toy ^_^

Man... I'm jealous on so many levels. Here I am planning on upgrading to an decent Intuos for the angle/ tilt jitters alone... and here you are with a Cintiq!
Does it feel any different from CGing with a regular tablet? Cintiq looks cool and all..... but one concern I've always had was reverting back to guiding the movement of my hand with my eyes.... which always gave me worse results than stroking by touch alone~

My teacher was going on and on about the new Cintiq and he got me all hyped up for it. But then, I started to hear bad things about it like how easily it gets scratched, the bad working angles, etc.
I dunno', the whole idea of it still really really appeals to me (and honestly seeing it in use like that gets me all excited again) but eh it's so much money for something that may end up being a very bad investment with all things considered.
The dual monitor idea is good though, I think my computer is setup to handle that. Maybe I should simply upgrade to the Intuos though...
In other words argh now I'm torn! >.<
Congrats on new tech gear though, I know the feeling. Give us a review if you could later on. :)

Since the Cintiq can change angles as needed on the stand, be embedded in an animation light table, or (in the case of this model) be held in the lap, bad angles seems like a strange complaint. As for surface damage, a simple plastic liner sheet (like what can be put on an iPod, is sufficient. Of course, you're not supposed to press on the thing like you're chiseling marble in the first place. That's a common error most new users make. They press on the thing with a force that would easily tear through a sheet of paper. They're lucky the tablets survive at all.
Ohh its so cute @_@ I want one so bad but I don't want to sell the big honky old version WITH A SERIAL PORT LOL I have because I use it as my monitor and the resolution is so pretty ;; I dunno I might cave. I really want a little one. Mine is so huge and heavy and the cords are giant X__X are the cords/plugs for yours really big? I see one on your picture and its no where near the size mine is haha :3
