I probably would have made the overhead armor a little lower, kind of shield-like in front... remember these little bugger's shells are fire-proof... ^.~

Ah, but you see, that overhead armor is hinged, so it can swing down to protect the head. Also the legs can retract flush with the carapace, so they're also less vulnerable.

Although I honestly had forgoten what it was that made these guys superior to koopas. =P

Very nice design to this, considering they weren't very detailed in the original game, after all. :) Makes them look almost more alien.

And they're called Buzzy Beetles, though I admit with quite a bit of shame I had to Wikipedia that. And to think I have the original strategy guide for that game, complete with terrible Engrish writing. Maybe I need to re-acquaint myself with the game through my DS...
