Got this print of the Doug trophy back from Shapeways today. Colors are a lot more saturated than I anticipated, but the detail is stunning. You can make out "Pandora" on the collar even though it's barely 4mm wide. She's even got tiny little teeth you can sort of see from a certain angle.
I've got one on the way to Doug as part of the community care package, so I hope he likes it, too.

She'd probably look even better printed out bigger, but the price goes up exponentially. It's all based on the volume of material used to print. For the curious this one costs about $75 at is 6.5" inches tall, and with shipping and handling comes in a bit under $100.
I'm curious if there's a market for these things custom made. It takes a long time for me to make them now but I'd do them as a trade if the character in question can be rendered "SFW" enough to meet printing guidelines.
If I had $25K I could spare I'd spring for one of these printers tomorrow!
