This, as the title would suggest, is the theme of ACT1.2 of the game NES game Totally Rad. Or as the Japanese knew it, Magic John.

This is probably an even bigger chunk of my childhood than Act1, only because of the fact that, as a kid, this game was hard as shit. And to this day, I can't get past this level without cheating
The truth is that the American version has rom mistakes in it, due to it being edited with different sprites and such, and unfortunately, they accidently forgot to put the health and magic replenishment items back in. Making the game hard as shit.
