Murder Card - Artisan Sunspot
Arty asked for a murder card, so I put him in customer service hell. He's on a helpdesk call with a well intentioned old lady who would rather talk about her kitty, Mister Pickles the third, than discuss what's wrong with her laptop. Consequently, Arty is considering committing seppuku with a sharpened pencil.

That is if a Samurai looses a battle and is dishonored. On the battlefield, should a Samurai wish to not be captured, or preserve their honor prior to a defeat, they can open a vein using a knife commonly stored on the hilt of their blade, or a dagger on their belt. Generally, its done via slitting your wrist, but it can also be done via the artery on your leg.
Should a warrior commit it at the command of his Shogun, he is presented with a glass of rice wine, and a short sword wrapped in white silk for him to fall upon as per the orders of his lord. Its generally regarded as the final act of an aged warrior, or the brave act of a dishonored warrior.
This tradition was also carried out in some degree by the Kamikaze pilots of Japan during WWII, where before missions they were presented with a glass of sake' as well as a white silk headband with the emblem of the rising sun for them to wear when flying their final mission. It was however not a very accurate portrayal of the tradition. However, the Minister of War and his aids committed the historically accurate version shortly after the surrender of Japan, since it was a dishonor on their part for loosing the war.
I...may have studied this to some degree at one point.

I'm a huge history geek in I find particular battles and mechanics really interesting... even if they are disturbing. I know during the second world war Japanese soldiers would gather around a single grenade and kill themselves to prevent the shame of capture... or kill fellow soldiers would were wounded to prevent shame for the same reason...
Back in 1998 - 1999, I worked as IT support for a company that was doing Y2K remediation. They hired every elderly person they could find that had even driven next to a building containing a mainframe at some point in their lives :D
There was this one lady that we called Uncle Leo (Seinfeld reference, and a whole different story!) who would call us every time her connection to the mainframe went down. We only supported the computer on her desk, here, locally, and had no ability to repair connection issues with the mainframes...
She would NEVER ger that, and would argue and complain in a high pitched nasally voice each time it happened. Like some sort of recurring nightmare, I tell ya!
So yah.... been here before! :D
