And now, I reveal to you all my ulterior motive for joining this site.
Who here's familiar with the work of Will Vinton, the supposed founding father of claymation, or at least the name for it?
If you are, then chances are you'll recognize Wilshire Pig, one of his creations, a character who appeared in two holiday specials. "A Claymation Comedy Of Horrors", and "A Claymation Easter".
Well... I seem to have developed a soft yet increasingly strong spot in my heart for the Easter special, in particular. The reason for that may be the fact that I seem to have the hots for one of the other characters that appeared exclusively in it. That character is known as Dr. Spike Rabbit. I have no doubt you'll be able to figure out the difference between the two.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I have unexpectedly taken to shipping these two together. Eh heh heh heh...
Not only that, but a little idea for a headcanon/fanficcy-type thing also seems to have spawned in my brain before I could stop it. The summary for it goes a little something like this:
Good Wilshire Hunting:
"Following the events of the special, Wilshire Pig is arrested and sent to prison for kidnapping (and even attempting to murder) the Easter Bunny, where he endures 24 months of miserable prison life. Upon being released on good behavior, he is given one last chance to clean up his act and change his recently discovered criminal ways. Having been evicted from his shithole of a house, (due to failure to pay bills and rent, what with a combination of being both broke and in jail ) he is left homeless, hungry, depressed, downtrodden and unable to find a job anywhere due to his arrest record. When his life turns so miserable to the point where he attempts to give in to suicidal urges, his only hope of survival (and a better new life) may lie in the hands of Dr. Spike Rabbit.."
..And that is all I feel up to giving away at the present time.
Wilshire Pig and Dr. Spike Rabbit are © Will Vinton.
(Though I consider them "adopted" by me, as a long-forgotten, little known-about anthro odd couple that could have been.)
