Oh wow. This is so beautiful and touching, love. Hits home for me too in a big way. :\ My best friend/sister/Hetero life mate has been in the Navy for the last 3 years and I only see one day, maybe two if I'm lucky, a year. She still has one more to go and then I'm not even sure she'll be coming back home to Baltimore. We'll see. But the last 3 years have felt like an eternity. :(
Really lovely job on this piece, dear. It can be difficult to convey emotion like this, but it's clear that you know this feeling well enough to portray it perfectly in your art. I'm sorry you've had to go through this too. But at least something beautiful can come out of all the pain that goes into making it. Keep it up. I look forward to seeing more emotionally charged pieces like this one! <3

And I'm also deeply sorry you've had to go through the pains of having a loved one in the military. It's crazy hard not being able to see someone you care for deeply for months, even a couple years on end sometimes. It takes a lot of strength, love and dedication, for sure. I really hope your best friend gets to come home after this year, dear. I'm sure she's ready to be with and her family, too! haha
