This little sketch happened the other day while I was warming up, and it instantly became something more meaningful for me.
I'll be coloring it for FC, but for now, it's just pencil work.
Luther/Amon, if it wasn't obvious

"It wasn't that I had fallen before I had met you.
It wasn't that you had made me fall.
It wasn't that my heart wept for you.
It was only of what you had become.
It was you who made me realize what I had become,
and although I would nary utter a word against it,
it was you who reminded me of that part I had lost.
and once again helped me embrace it.
Woe, such is the agony of the heart
when cupid's arrow hath pierced it!
Sorrow unto my soul as I see you here
chained and left in the dust to fester.
But where others would pass you by
and ignore you for your cracked and scratched visage
My, but what they would see if I polished you!
and let them fret with envy.
For it was I who had found you here
or perhaps you whom had found me,
But it will be us together dear...
that shall roam this world free.
Were I only capable of having the honor of saying that my words were born from I and I alone...
Much like any smith, I attribute the skills I have gained thus far to the books I have read, and the artistry that others have exemplified over the years. I am merely a product of those great works, perpetuating the art as others have with their trade.

To quote and quip.
We all stand on the shoulders of Giants.. to start with. And then we grow into their footprints and support others.
Nothing is lost, nothing is disrespected from striving to do better as it is in their nature to lift us up to see further.
And then.. in time.. when they are no longer able to support us we step forth and honor them with our own tales.
For what better gift to a Master is for their Student to succeed and make their own mark on the world.
Happy Midwinterfest to you and your kin..

That's beautiful 0.0 Do you start out doing a random sketch and then move to something more meaningful, or did you have the picture in mind? It still fascinates me how you and several other artists can draw something so beautiful and intimate seemingly out of thin air.
Wow Rukis, you've brought out another great piece yet again. If I had to caption a meaning for a back story, it would probably go like this:
"When I had lost all direction and hope, you found me there and brought meaning to my life, I was only strong in one aspect of my life but now I've become stronger in every aspect, you've lead an example for me, now I want to do the same for you"

(I'm totally sorry to burst your bubble, awesome that you sing too, but the opera I'm referencing is one I'm writing of chapters #2-8 of "Heretic," the novel Rukis wrote about Luther's backstory... it has no brothel whores in it. Not even Mikhail.)
I'd love to guide you down the whore path, however, the only operas that come to mind that even take place in brothels are Mozart's "Entfuhrung" and Brecht's "Threepenny Opera." You must remember, this is an art form whose major works are from the 1800s, traditionally bowdlerized by the church, and which relies on its funding from banks and business leaders of a stripe. I'm risking it severe just writing something about the struggles of a gay white male.

Oh, relax. XD I once, to the artist who gave me the courage to come out of the closet, wrote a comment on three hours of sleep in which I made a hideously ill-grammared fancrush while getting the gender, species, subject, name, and universe of the subject of the picture wrong. Not one of my better moments.
If you want to sing as a brothel whore, who knows... talk to a regietheater director, see what they tell you XD
