Sorry, had some RL stuff going on that I needed to deal with. Crisis averted, I hope! *is optimistic* After discussing things with some friends, I decided to make an encounter with multiple endings. Yaaaaaay!
You decide to nose around behind the nearby rocks. Instead of the usual grass forest floor, the ground behind the rocks starts to give way to dusty terrain, indications of a hilly region nearby that is merging with the forest.
Almost immediately, you are greeted by a Mudkip who appears a little lost. He’s rolling around in the dust and drooling a little. Upon spotting you, he gets right up in your face and stares at you. “Do you like me?” Blinking, you stare at the little Pokemon. “Uh… I guess?”
The Mudkip reacts like a little kid hyped up on sugar. “You like me! I heard you like me! Do you like me?” The verbal over-reaction persists for several minutes before you take off running as fast as you can, the Mudkip hot on your tail. Finally, you manage to shake him by hiding behind a fallen log, your heart beating in your chest. You can still hear the mudfish Pokemon howling behind you. “Do you like me? Do you like meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?”
Hoping to find a more sensible Pokemon to interact with, you start to wander around for a bit. Your stomach is growling a bit, but everything looks far too large for a little Trapinch like you. If only you could have stolen some of the evolution tools from the Ninetails… Your mind is filled with an image of your entire body burned to a crisp and you shake the foolish notion from your head.
As you walk on, you suddenly hear a low, repetitive thud coming from your right. Curious, you head in that direction and poke your head through the brush to spy. Much to your surprise, you see a small blue Nidoran ramming her head into a boulder. After shaking off the impact, the little Poison Pokemon takes a hop back, readies herself, and rams the boulder again. You’re not sure, but she seems to be practicing. Straining your ears, you can hear her muttering to herself.
“Call me weak, will he? I’ll show him, put his stupid ass in a coma.” She sounds really frustrated and upset. Maybe someone insulted her? Not your problem, you’re just out looking for a meal and she fits the bill. She seems a bit tired and would probably be easy pickings, not to mention your type advantage.
…or is it your problem? The guild hall seems really empty. You know Shade and Sieglinde are off trying to recruit other Pokemon to help explore. This little Nidoran seems interested and determined to become a strong fighter. Maybe you could get to know her a little better and see if she’ll join you? Helping her with her problem would definitely go a long way towards convincing her. It might not be as immediately satisfying as feeling her squirm in your belly, but it might be more beneficial in the long run, especially if she could eventually evolve into a mighty Nidoqueen.
Eh… maybe this is all just a waste of time and you should look for other opportunities elsewhere.
