Carmelita finally managed to corner Sly. Little did she know that he let her do on purpose, for he had something very important to give her, and he wanted a very special atmosphere and situation for that.
Misunderstanding his intentions, Carmelita sent him a warning shot, thinking he would try to dodge in the darknesses but, overconfident, he walked straight to her and got frontally hit... Paralyzed, Carmelita saw her whole world falling along with Sly, her only love............
The end ?

I'd call it artistic freedom... I can see the intention to create, as artist's do, an image that evokes emotion. I've only played the first game but I have to say it's not exactly how I'd like to see them end, but at the same time I'd have to say great work in evoking emotion with it. I have to admit I felt a twing of sadness at such and ending for this couple. And while your right at the gun not working that way Val... but I do recall an old Scifi show that was on UPN where a guy had a concussion blast gun that if the settings where just so he could cave in a guys chest, blow holes through a person, ect... he just coulnt' ever figure the thing out.
Ha ! In fact, NO !!!!! In my "story", that was the only precious thing he didn't steal because he KNEW his proposal would have much more value this way (even if probably bought with money he got from other tievery acts, but anyway), this adds to the tragic of the situation (yes, I am a romantic masochist).
LOL I just thought about something ironical : it wouldn't be easy for him to prove he bought it, he just can't present the bill as a justification, that would be gross in such a romantic moment... XD XD ^^''''''

Aw, that's actually really "nice" in a sense. It's one of those things that really makes you think about, well, the situation and playing it over in your head almost. I guess I just love the kind of emtoion it brings out, cause it's bittersweet and almost crushingly sad in all the right ways. Very nice, great work. :) Quite a touching pic, really.
NO! I refuse reality! Bully and Grand Theft Auto have trained me to kill and taught me that it is ok to do so! Why, just last week, I jumped on a turtle and threw his shell down a bottomless pit... of course, that was after eating a few magic mushrooms...
Although, knowing Sly, he's probably got a trick up his sleeve and is only playing possum to fool Carmelita.

You lucky swine! Now you get to discover how good it is. I envy you... :)

I've somehow run into quite a few stories/images of this nature in the last day or two.
Hmm... Well, I'm going to fave this, but maybe you should bump the warning, lets some soccer-mom deal with their little kid traumatised by seeing sly with a bullethole in his chest.
Nice work by the way.

Thankies SA !! :D Well, as you know, I'm not a gamer and all I know from those characters is some pics on the net plus the two comics you provided me the link (thank you again VERY much, they gave me inspirations for monthes in a moment I'm quite dry). But reading the other comments, I realized indeed in the game, her pistol has something like electricity shock-based bullets, which does reduce the dramatic possible issues - fortunately ? ;D
So, yeah, you could say she upgraded it or took another one, perhaps by mistake - which would give another explanation to her shock state.

Great artwork mate . . . though I never cared for finite potential such as fatalities.
Shade: that's why you have us around.
[Shade and Night step out of the shadows where they watched the scene take place. Giving little more than a dissappointed look to the still paralyzed vixen, they go straight to the down coon. They each examine the damage, and then raise a hand to where the Shock shot hit him. Without a word their hands ignite with flames.]
[Carmelita, still not understanding what is happening, tries to move forward to stop them when she sees the fire . . . but is held back by how strange the fire looked. And so she should, for each of their hands was sheathed in four rippling flames.]
Shade and Night: Let the primal flame of the pit rebuild and strengthen your body.
[As they prey, the black and crimson flame extends from their hands and fills the wound. Sly's body stiffens slightly as his bones, muscles, and organs are mended and strengthen with hellish primal might.]
Shade/Night: Let the wise flame of the heavens heal and purge you of all impurities.
[the white and gold flame followed its darker brother into the wound and began to clense away all infections and the negative energy of its companion]
Shade/Night: Let the wild flame of the elements bridge the gap for the spirit to return.
[the roaring prismatic flame filled and covered Sly's body . . . bridging and calling to his seperated soul]
Shade/Night: Now let the eternal flame of life rekindle your lost fire with a spark from our own.
[the final flame of greens, whites, and blues completed the circuit of fire, carrying a small spark of light from each of the hedgehog hybrids' hearts into Sly's limp form. With a flash of blazing light the four fires melded into one and then erupted outward.]
[As the light fades, Carmelita sees the two strangers standing before her. The gun steel white hedgehog carries Sly in his arms. He brings him foreward and places him in her arms. She starts in shocked amazement . . . Sly is breathing! His wounds are but mild scares and his once limp form now sleeps in an unconscious state in her arms. Her eyes begin to well up with tears as she looks up to speak with the strangers.]
[The midnight black hedgehog places a finger on her muzzle and gently smiles as he places the ring box on Sly's chest.]
Night: Hopefully this teaches you how grey good and evil truly is.
Shade: Take good care of each other.
[The turn and walk back into the shadows vanishing completely . . . leaving a teary eyed Carmlita carrying the most precious treasure in her world home to recover . . . safe and sound under her protection]

Good to hear.
I just can't help myself at times, nor my brothers for that matter. Whenever they can have some fun I let them
But it did give me a chance to actually put that "resurrection by the four flames" ritual in to text. It's so rare I ever put any of my ideas into any kind of recording . . . and it seems commenting is one of the few that truly works for me, hmmmmmph
What did you think of them anyway?

Sorry about that,
But take into account that Shade and Night aren't from that world. They come from Neo Mobius where the ancient Arcana is melded with super sciences on a daily basis. And they are among the extreme few to possess the ability to travel between deminsions and universes.
On top of that, The Four Flames of Creation can't be wielded safely by science or logic; and for such delicate operations like resurrection such rituals like that are necesssary to both control the flames' actions and prevent any unwanted and deadly side effects.
Besides, don't forget all the times Sly's had to tango with powerful magic uses in his adventures.

I didn't mean "hurt" in a strong meaning.
Anyway, in that kind of story, the first question I'll ask is why here, why now, why them ?!! They come out of nowhere to rescue somebody they don't know at all while there would be so many far more useful ways to use this power : children falling from their balcony under the eyes of their parents, people trapped in caves, accidents on the road, I don't even talk about animals shot for nothing... And if they do all that, not only this world will get quite crowded, but "death" will then not mean much to people if they know they can be ressucited, and they will begin to kill for simple pleasure or just boredom !!

Heheh, you're one of the few to actually see such issues so quickly.
Shade and Night are what I call wildcards in the game of fate. They live to shake destiny up. Night loves stirring things up and Shade likes keeping the piece . . . and not in the "law" since.
Night, like my four imp brothers--Jesshire, Sin-Ju, Xexix, and Sonrai--likes to keep a weather I open for potential opertunities to cause a little discord to keep things interesting.
And Shade, while hating destiny and fate, always ends up being guided to where he is seriously needed.
And from their own life experiences, they both know all too well what it's like to loose the most precious treasure of their worlds. It was fate ruining the chance at true love that started their entire epic transformation from a gentle hearted, shy, reborn bio-weapon into the pair of 2000 year old, 18 year olds with more power houses they are now. So this sort of situation really hits home with them.
As for the Flames, that ritual only works under certain conditions. One, it only works within three days of death, after that the soul is too far gone to be brought back. Two, it doesn't always work out even then . . . as the chant says, "Let" the flames do, which means that a major part of it relies The higher power allowing it to happen. And three, as the final part says, they use a spark from their own life forces to rekindle the fire of life of the victem . . . and even though they have exceptionally more life force than any other, it still a gamble on how much they can do it before it takes its final toll.
Besides, with the full power they possess all those other problems they can solve while just walking by on the Diminsional Highway. A sudden gale of thermals to slow the child's fall to a gentle landing; a controlled earthquake to open up the cave and cause the rubble to roll off and away from the victems; instent down pours to dowse car fires and walking shadows to pull the victems out.
With varying mastery over all four core, four fusion, two influence, and the three lord elements, such things are easy . . . if and when they happen to come across them. Of course, that doesn't mean they can always stop life from going it's natural and intended path.
Besides, if they saw people actually taking life for granted in such a manor, they would turn their backs on it as a failed attempt to help and leave that said world to its own end.
So the final note on that, though death has been denied them more times than either of them can count, even they can't change the fates and destinies of everyone else let alone entire cities, countries, and worlds--like their Fathers the Almighty (Shade) and His Archangel of Trials and Tribulations, Discordia (Night)--but that doesn't mean they won't try, heh
