Owning a pet is a long commitment. With it comes highs and lows like any relationship. 15 an a half years of growing up from a kid to an adult together is a long time. His name was Bruiser, the maincoon. My maincoon.
Whenever I'd come home from a long day of work, he would be running his way over to my car to hop in and greet me. Every time someone let him inside the house, he'd dash up to my room to see me with a happy meow. If scared, I'd be the first he'd run to. Never bit, never scratched. Even played and teased with the new dogs we got a few years ago. All around a great life companion. A great friend. My friend.
And on 12/10/13, with a heavy heart, I had to say farewell to my feline friend. Kidneys having given out on him days before we could get him to the vet. An Despite the vet's machines saying he by all accounts should be dead. He held on those few more days to be next to me.

I'll never forget you my friend. You'll always have a place in my heart wherever your spirit my be.
