Gem woke up hearing a little shuffling noise outside her box.
She'd been so worried about not being able to write a list to Santa, she'd asked her super clever brother to help.
This is how it came to be that Gem found herself asleep in a box under the christmas tree.
"Ho ho ho!" A jolly voice said from outside.
Gem whimpered not recognizing voice shivering in the box.
"Assistant..." The voice said, "It appears there is a present for me."
"Yes Santa." The familiar voice of uncle Runt said as Gem could hear the shuffling getting closer!
"Do you think there's a small cub in there? Trying to surprise us?" Santa asked.
Runt shook his head, "I think there's a very small baby in there that fell asleep in a nice warm box."
Santa giggled, "I'm going to go to the kitchen for some cookies, help her out assistant!"

Runt opened the box smiling, "Hi baby!"
Gem's eyes lit up as she clung to Uncle Runt.
"Come on baby, let's get you to bed so Santa can get your presents delivered."
Gem nodded, thinking next time, she'd just ask Zee-Zee to leave a note...
