I painted 6 (six) backgrounds for this, none of which turned out the way I wanted, and I ended up putting in a crappy cave with no sense of scale whatsoever to it. The full-size file for this is almost a hundred megs in size now because of all the disabled background layers -_-.
This is Scaurus' snake character S'kei. He mentioned to me that he was a climbey kind of guy.

Autodidactically (long word), like all of what little I know about digital art... Playing with the sliders is the easiest part of the process, really. It's not like you can permanently break anything, thanks to the magic of CTRL-Z.
What I need to learn is to actually paint with decent colours from the start so I can use real media as well.

I haven't had my head eaten but I've been psychically vampirised by a schoolgirl disguised as the ghost of my best friend's dead brother.
Plus my boyfriend wants to be polygamous, I'm failing Math, and the teachers are mad at me because I spied on a magic ritual in the library.
Oh, and someone stole my underwear. It's hard being a snake boy at school...
