Christmastime

’Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Many creatures were stirring,
Each one a mouse.

The mice all played music
That they loved to hear,
Written by their lion friend
That always was near.

They all helped him decorate
The house for the season.
They all got excited
For various reasons.

Their friend was a hero,
Worldwide and local,
And all of his points
All seemed to be focal.

The mice all anticipated
With great hopes and cares
To wish that St. Nick
Would soon arrive there.

The lion was all smiles
As he wished them good night.
He also wished St. Nick
A successful flight.

Yes, Christmas was a great
For the dwellers of this place.
For it always put smiles
On everyone’s face.

Soon morning would come,
And all would give cheer
For what gifts they hoped for
Would possibly by here.

But the best gift of all
Was the friendships between
These musical rodents
And the beast that was king.

They showed their gratitude
And appreciation towards him,
And he made sure he did
The same for them.
