Bringing Light (Christmas Card 2013)
As we all know, the days and weeks leading up to Christmas can become fairly fast paced and it is easy to loose track in all the joy of ones own preparations. Still there are some things we wouldn't want to miss, but have no way to influence ourselves. Town centres and public paces gleaming and glittering with festive lights come to mind for instance. The lights we come to adore when we take a step back from rushing all over places!
It is that spirit and those hard working folk responsible for that charm I wanted to capture in the design for my christmas card this year. After showing the more private, secluded preparations, I am taking to the streets and rooftops of our inner cities and their municipal workers, whom year after year give joy by bringing light to dark places.

Illustrator over pencil.
