Thank you very much! I was a little saddened over on dA, where people didn't get the sugarplum reference OR the fact that the beds were magical dream depictions (someone asked, "Why is there a Christmas tree in bed?") - I mean, to be fair, this was speedpainted and it probably could have been clearer, but come on! Christmas magic, people! :b
Hehe, anyway, thank you very much, hope your holidays went well <3

That has been something I have noticed a lot on DA, if every thing in an image is not all laid out for most people, any hidden meanings are lost. I like the mystery of what you have to look for, even if it means reading into something that is not there. As a dreamscape, it is like blending what is real and not, but, obviously few remember the movie Inception.
"even if it means reading into something that is not there"
The idea that art is more of a reflection of the viewer than the artist is a fairly valid viewpoint, I'd say, for precisely this reason. Just think of all the times a picture resounds within a viewer for a personal reason - it reminds them of a cherished childhood moment, or an inside joke, or a friend they once knew.

An it is any wonder why when I do sort critiques that I do it as a comparative analysis, reflection and artistic techniques, I do this sort of stuff all the time.
As this image hearkens back to a time when as children we thought anything, and everything was possible, by some means.
