Yep I've seen ice storms too. They can sure change the landscape in a matter of hours that's for sure.

I know they can be dangerous but there's something about the sound a tree makes when it's covered in a layer of ice.

yes they do tend to make some unique sounds many times just before they break.

Well there is that. But also the sound they make when there is a slight breeze.

they sound like wind chimes in a light wind but more haunting of a sound.

Had a few ice storms when I was stationed at Lowry AFB, Denver, Colorado. It looks pretty but an ice-laden tree is dangerous, too. Had a large branch fall on a neighbor's car the winter of 1976/77, totalling the roof.

Yep we had quite a few branches came down in the neighborhood only know of one house that took a hit. House across the street from us had a sizable branch clip the edge of their roof.
