mild steel body, 5160 face, three passes with a mig sunk in nice and deep and a quick go over with a wire wheel. unfortunately no hickory left so a pine handle it is, which is fine, this hammer is placed over work and struck with another hammer to smooth out and flatten out a forging.

                    yeh, chinese cast steel 50kg, not great but it was cheap, starting up I'd rather not buy something like a rat hole or sydney anvil and cover it with "learning marks" so, this little guy will do me until I'm confident and cashed up for something nice. I've got my eyes on a new 250lb fontanini :)
