OK so it's not furry. And it's fanart. But it has hyenas in bowties!

I agree. I need to perhaps get my mitts more on any good DC Comic material The Golden Age and Bronze Age are my favorite parts of the superhero comic history. Through I like the Bronze age in part due to my being born and growning up while those sort of comics were being produced. The Golden Age where when superheroes started and some of the charcters we have now, like Superman and Batman started from. It was here that Batman began as something close to his modern grim-vigilate detective self, long before the Silver Age/Adam West sillyness.
In about the same way, Japanese anime, "Oliver & Comapany" and "Watership Down" are what inspired me to care more about higher levels of hand-drawn animation.

I need to cut down on my comic book collection. I have way too much. Almost all from the modern age. 1980s to present. As I moved away from the furry fandom I dived in heavily to the comic book fandom. And wow, my bedroom looks like a library now.
I suggest picking up Detective Comics #27 (not the old one, the one published this week). It's an homage to all the different years of Batman from various writers and artists who have worked on the character over the years.
