you know what's bizarre?
and this may sound creepy, but if you knew how my subconscious gets it isn't really -
but, I had a dream last night, in which I saw a magazine with an ad for muscle milennium on the cover :B
and then i went to see a play where angels fought satan in the audience while complaining about shoes, but that was another story.

Not only are the character designs appealing, but I enjoy their backstories too. A simple paragraph and you can get a good feel for what the character is like. I only wish I could have done stuff like this when I was in college ^^ (Plus my work-induced mind loves the nice clean layout; I feel like a lot of game software manuals seem cluttered these days.) I adore all six pages; good luck with your presentation! :3
I was flipping through various instruction booklets, and I was shocked to see the endless blocks of text ("Where are the pictures?" D:) seemingly without too much thought. I guess as games became more complex, the need for more text arose, but I still think a manual can be treated as an extension (or even a predecessor) of the fun that a game can offer. I remember being young and reading through the entire manual before I would play a new game, not only to learn to play (of course), but to see the sort of imagery I'd be set up for when I actually got to playing. Of course, back then, it was with 16- to 24-bit systems, so it didn't really correlate too much. XD Thanks for the in-depth comment!
I think the SMB3 manual is what started it all XD I remember being 5 and making a SM World "artbook" (aka security envelopes taped together to resemble a book, numbered pages and all) with some pretty convincing freehand copies of official art I had done. I brought it to school and gave it to a kid who had asked for it. I still regret it to this day. :(
A vulfpacht is sort of a cross between a wolf and a mountain lion. They're a race in my webcomic, The Pride of Life.
