And here it is! Finished!
Lots of things clicked into place for me on this one, and I'm very excited to be able to use and understand a slew of new tools. I do wish I could have done a better job with the face in the smoke, but anything more than that is, unfortunately, beyond me at this point in time- I tried tora!
Next up is Kiba's icon, and then I can finally start work on
xanderblaze's prize!

Yay!
Sorry for not waiting for your confirmation on the markings, but I just hit my zone and couldn't stop drawing. I'm glad you like it, and you absolutely may upload it to your gallery. If you wait a minute, I'll e-mail a copy of the image minus the border and at a higher resolution to you.

You should be thanking yourself for giving me such a cool refsheet to work with! I would have never been able to draw this as it looks now if it wasn't for some awesome inspiriation. The stripes were tricky for me because I had originally wanted to fur texture them on....but it just didn't look right- Almost messy, y'know? Then, I hit upon this method and really dug the results and went with it!
I'd probably explode in snot if you did hug me- let's count ourselves blessed. XD

Hey, so I was perusing your gallery, because I haven't been on FA in aaaaaaages, and I stopped to drool over this pic again (still one of my absolute favorite pieces ever). And it occurred to me. The painted on stripes are even more appropriate. Although not a Blackfoot, Crazy Horse (the famous Oglala Sioux chief who strove along with Sitting Bull for Lakota freedom and ownership of the Montana and Dakota plains) was covered with little white spots whenever he went into battle. The markings represented hailstones, and came from a powerful vision he had of the freedom he would earn for the Lakota people. It's what drove him to be such a formidable warrior, and why he inspired so many others. Unfortunately, the time it took to paint the hailstones all over his body meant he was late to the fight at Little Bighorn, but the warriors he and Sitting Bull inspired still got their victory!
