Late night: no idea what woke me. Neither of the babies were crying and I didn't feel Cherry moving. Then it dawned on me: I didn't feel Cherry next to me at all. I looked over to see her spot on the bed was vacant. I looked over to the bathroom door, which stood wide open. "Cherry?" I called quietly, but there was no reply.

I got out of bed and walked down the hallway. I noticed the door to the babies' room was opened a crack. The door usually closed, I knew she must have been inside. I crept into the room to find her standing at the cribs. "Cherry, babe." I whispered, "What's going on?" She turned to me and smiled. "Nothing. I just.....wanted to make sure they're okay." I smiled and walked up behind her, wrapping my arms around her. "Don't worry, babe. They're safe." We both took a look at the young ones and watched them sleep. I kissed Cherry's cheek, letting her know what a wonderful thing we did.
