So I was poking around for ideas on what this group's mascot could be, and came across this neat prehistoric critter: the Diplocaulus! It has a really strange boomerang shaped head and apparently grew to over 3ft in length (~1 meter). Scientists speculate that the strange head shape perhaps helped Diplocaulus' swim through the water, or else acted as a defense against predators (since swallowing such a huge chunk of skull would be quite difficult.)
Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool so I thought I'd share. :D
