When Luna was sent (Bam Zoom) strait to the Moon, I always wondered what happened to the shadowbolts after her return and conversion. Well, here's what I came up with.
They are placed in somewhat of isolation, with most senses revoked, and there they remain for a long while, until they can be brought around to the other side. Until then it's bound and gagged in one of Celestia's many many dungeons, the ones you never hear of unless you are in them.
As was the case with the shadowbolts, not even allowed to change from the flight suits they wore, they were struck from the skies and immediately taken to one of the dungeons for some quality thinking time.
