Copy-pasted from another picture of her in my gallery: "Thrash, in brief: a former chaos goddess, deposed and punished by her peers, basically for being a loose cannon (even a chaos deity was expected to abide by the pantheon's rules). She was supposed to receive a temporary personality overlay encouraging subservient behavior toward mortals, in hopes it would teach her some empathy and respect for protocol. However, they kind of botched it. The intended subbiness and desire-to-please were achieved, but Thrash was left rather glitch-brained; her syntax is frequently garbled and laden with nonsensical jargon, making her intermittently difficult to understand, and she often has trouble maintaining her balance and/or train of thought. She seems happy enough, though..."

So no, not synthetic, just incompetently mindhacked. It's an overlay rather than an overwrite, though; she'll be fine in the long run. :)
